Considering the massive changes in our town in the past 4 years we have a responsibility to revisit this project. We TOTALLY support a Special Town Meeting. The town has changed the direction of projects in town before, we can do it again if necessary. (eg. Fruit St. was going to have a school and other facilities, and that changed; at one time families fought to have neighborhood schools, but that was dropped in favor of the configuration of grades at the schools that we now have.)
We totally support you and the fact that construction will be horrible for businesses. We think the bike path for such a short distance is highly unnecessary, (merely symbolic). We believe burying wires in such a heavily trafficked area will be highly disruptive and way too costly. New England has visible wires, it's ok !! We believe our taxes should go toward expanding and improving the schools, now that our town population has caused the schools to be overcrowded.
Beautification at half the cost can be accomplished!

Thank you for your thoughtful comments! I completely agree that the taxes could be better spent on the school system, which is in crisis.

Well this took some time (not taking the picture, figuring out how to post it) This is the taking required for what will probably be the seldom-used left-turn lane from W Main to Wood. Oh! Click on the picture and it gets a lot bigger!
